QUICKNEWS

1.     Held one meeting of the ACSED 2010 Training Symposium Workgroup. SPB, DOR, CHIIP and APSEA have agreed to be co-sponsors.  Executive Board of Gov's Comm will consider recommendation to co-sponsor Dec 3.  SDAC will decide Dec 2. Awaiting decision of FTB to co-sponsor and okay use of their facilities.

2.     "ACES" Top State Employer Awards Announcements sent to 10 key legislative committee chairs.  "ACES" Certificates presented to Directors of Departments of Transportation and Managed Health Care.           

3.     Finalized Best Disability Employment Practices Catalog and initiated distribution.

4.     Provided comments on draft Disability Survey prepared by SEIU 1000.

5.     Presented proposal to CHIIP to fund two part time consultants to be employed by ACSED to assist with AB 1643 Long Term Care study.  Proposal was approved and key documents [consultant agreement and statement of work] were developed.

6.     Submitted language to Gov's Comm recommending inclusion of bona fide State employee organization [ACSED] in the membership provisions of their Operating Procedures document [Gov's Comm requested suggested changes].
