Solicitation for ACSED Webmaster

The Association of California State Employees with Disabilities (ACSED) is recruiting for an ACSED member interested in serving as an independent contractor to be its Webmaster and manage its website and other online outreach activities.

Required Duties:

Under the general direction of the President, or his or her designee, the ACSED Webmaster will be expected to do all of the following:

  • Maintain the software infrastructure of the ACSED website;
  • Ensure that all applications and content used on the website are accessible to and usable by persons with disabilities, consistent with ACSED board Policy and current Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards;
  • Design, modify, and support current and future uses of online forms using the Formbuilder platform;
  • Process requests from those wishing to unsubscribe from ACSED mailing lists and maintain the list of those wishing to receive job announcements and those wishing to receive optional mailings
  • Monitor the ACSED gmail account and distribute email messages and announcements upon request either using mass email tools or Gmail;
  • Forward messages received to appropriate officers for response;
  • Review all content on the website at least once per month and advise the President or designee as to any outdated material which should be removed or modified;
  • Attend Board or committee meetings upon request;
  • Identify any items which might require the addition or modification of content on the website, and recommend language for new or modified content to the President or designee;
  • Post new or modified content on the website, with any revisions directed by the President or designee;
  • Coordinate with those providing technical support for virtual events and provide technical assistance as needed;
  • Assist the President or designees to ensure consistent treatment of communications with members and external audiences through various communication channels.

Compensation:

The contractor selected to serve as the ACSED Webmaster will be compensated at the rate of $300 per month, payable on a quarterly basis.

Only ACSED members in good standing are eligible to apply for this contract opportunity. By May 16, 2025, anyone interested in serving as the ACSED Webmaster should submit a brief letter of interest, describing their involvement with ACSED and experience in performing similar functions, to Ralph Black at ralphdblack@att.net.

Any letters of interest received by May 16, 2025, will be reviewed. Applicants deemed reasonably well qualified may be asked to submit more detailed information as part of a subsequent round of competition.
